Surrender or (and) Die

“Stop right there, put your hands where I can see them”, barked the military Covid police as Raul and Asa emerged from the woods.

“Well Sarge, it looks like two more Covid deaths recorded in Harris County, Texas today; good shooting Sarge.”, said the private to the commanding officer.

“Yea, this is really more fun than shooting coyotes down along the Rio Grande river; take those face masks off of them before we radio in for the meat wagon.”, Sarge told private Nedib. “Probable cause, you know.”, Sarge chuckled.

Raul and Asa were your average young Americans; unemployed drifters who had come to Texas in the fall of 2021 in search of warmer weather. Their home state of Michigan was no place for homeless people in the winter time.

There once was a time when people were free in the United States but all that ended back in 2020. On the surface Raul and Asa appear to be victims of the military Marxist government but the truth be told they voted in favor of that government so they got what they voted for.

Raul and Asa had bought into the liberal socialist way of thinking during their upbringing. Their presidential votes in 2020, for what they thought would bring each of them lots of prosperity without any efforts were misguided, at best.

In the end the only thing of value they received from that government was a bullet to the heart.

“Sarge, any word on how long before the new prison camp will be completed?”, asked private Nedib as they waited for the bodies to be hauled away to the burn pit. Private Nedib was becoming uncomfortable deep inside himself that killing civilians was getting out of hand.

“Why you so interested in the prison camp being completed? You won’t be assigned to work there.”, Sarge told him. Before Nedib could answer Sarge the body recovery team 3006 arrived.

“You got two here?”, asked the driver as he opened his truck door. “Yea, over there by the tree line” said Sarge as he pointed to the south.

“Who gets the kill tickets?” asked the driver. “Both are mine” said Sarge. “Nedib has a slow trigger finger.” he quipped as the driver busted out laughing.

Private Nedib was crushed by what the Sarge had said about never being assigned to the prison camp detail. Nedib was a real sexual pervert and since the only prisoners being taken alive were the female population he couldn’t wait for his turn at 'guarding’ the prisoners.

“Kill tickets Nedib; kill tickets are the ticket to all women you could ever handle”, the Sarge said boldly.

“Every color and flavor of women is at your finger tips but until you learn to shoot fast you will be at the bottom of list”, Sarge informed him. “If you don’t pick up the pace and start getting some tickets you might just end up working with Max hauling off the bodies.”

As Max drove off with the latest two kills private Nedib just stared blankly at his rifle. “Let’s get back at it Nedib” as the Sarge motioned towards the woods.

The pool of blood from Raul and Asa’s bodies covered the trail, “watch where you step Nedib” said Sarge as he led the way past the drying blood.

The real Covid effect was more of a psychological condition than a physical one. Some people even classified Covid as a weapon of war.

Nedib was suffering from Covid Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) and the pool of blood was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

“Private Nedib to Body Retrieval Unit 3006, come in Max”, Nedib called out over the radio. “I’ve got one more kill for you to pick up” said Nedib as he stuffed the two kill tickets of Raul & Asa in the pocket of his Covid military police vest.

The End.
