ok, i get it now.
fresh bagels. made daily, heck maybe hourly.
like until you’ve had a new jersey bagel (as a brit, i’m sure there are other great bagels in the country but hey, these rock compared to ours) it’s hard to believe that anything could be as good for breakfast as a full english (or scottish) as a power breakfast.
but i have news.
the jersey bagel is legit to take an equal crown in having a satiated breakfast.
which was a surprise to be honest.
but you gotta get the taylor ham (trust me on that)
i’ve been rolling in awesome bagels over the last few weeks, nipping out for a cold brew and a bagel run is a great alternative to a uk bacon cob — i have egg, cheese and taylor ham.
but let me tell you about the bagel (because that’s the important thing here)
not only is it super fresh, it’s soft and fluffy inside with an armour coating that will make a m1 abrams tank armour get jealous. it’s just a perfect unity.
like the thanos snap of getting breakfast right.
i’m hooked. i’m a convert.
i was always a bagel person but when you have something at the source it just hits different.
it’s a good replacement, a stand-in if you will.
there was a perfect sign outside the place we went.

it was the like the holy trinity of the american machine, the shit that keeps you grinding at those goals of optimisation of you time and strats for interfacing with the system around you.

it’s great to see the martial arts dojos open. feels like nothing has changed here since i watched karate kid. i can’t imagine what it was actually like when there was a dojo on nearly every other block. they look JUST like the film.
i think if i was based here more often (potentially?) then i’d definitely take karate up again, maybe a little wing chun or something similar. i got pretty far in belts when i was like 12/14.
i’ll just finish up here tipping my hat in the general direction of the new jersey bagel, don’t ever change, keep serving up those mega servings of cream cheese, lox or breakfast bagel.
