"The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters" boreal version, tribute to Goya - snow sculpture

All the previous sculptures I posted in the last week were done before the opening of the Carnival. The organizers also wanted some kind of live sculpture event during the two weekends of the Carnival. So on the first weekend, we got to do some snow sculpture in duo. I teamed up with Maryline Gagné, a brilliant artist that has been more and more involved with sculpture in the last couple of years. She had the idea of recreating the "El sueño de la razón produce monstruos" by Goya (The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters) with a boreal twist. We replaced the animals from the original painting with creatures from the Canadian fauna and folklore.

The carnival opened on a Friday night and the weather wasn't great. Still, we were kind of worried that the people visiting the site were few and far between. It really looked like a failure. Thankfully, on Saturday and Sunday, the place was packed and at the same time, peoples were actually pretty good at social distancing.

As a bonus, here's also another thing I decorated. Just a few simple and bold lines.
