When queen Cassiopeia boasted that andromeda was more beautiful than the Nereids, the ladies from the sea that represented beauty and kindness, Poseidon sends the sea monster Cetus to ravage the coast of Aethiopia as divine punishment.
Andromeda is chained to a rock as a sacrifice to sate the monster, but is saved from death by the hero Perseus, who marries her and takes her to Greece to reign as his queen.
Cuando la reina Casiopea se jactaba de que Andrómeda era más hermosa que las Nereidas, las damas del mar que representaban la belleza y la bondad, Poseidón envía al monstruo marino Cetus a devastar la costa de Etiopía como castigo divino.
