Nov. 7, 21: Routine, Grocery Shopping, Walking, Chores, A Movie, a...

Having slept for three hours yesterday afternoon and gotten caught up on my sleep a bit, I didn’t get to bed until well past ten thirty and was up at quarter to four, leaving me about three and a half hours short again and erasing everything. 😭

Being up that early, I was tempted to take out a load of metal and then happily realized that it’s all gone! Woot! Nothing to do there (except clean up that area - slacker).

Just did the usual stuff, but way early. Not a lot going on, just keeping an eye on my Aave investment to monitor my new (slightly higher) level of risk. I still seem to be doing fine and am in the green. ETH has continued to push its highs and I really need MATIC to follow suit! FIRE, believe it or not, lost even more value. 🤬 HIVE still pegged to eighty cents like it was its definition.

Got my post done and scheduled for the day and we headed into town early to do our weekly grocery shopping. Picked up a couple odd things and restocked our meats, so we were pretty high this time, like $150! 😱 Doesn’t help when a package of bacon costs eleven bucks! (No inflation to see here, folks, move along. 😛)

Got everything put away and then went and picked up Lady for her romp in the woods. We stayed in town this time, don’t get why but Dude doesn’t seem to like the proper woods anymore, just wants to turn around and run home. 🤷 That happened to be kind of lucky since Wenche got a call from work while we were out and needed to cover for a coworker…we didn’t cut the walk short, but we didn’t really dawdle either.

It had warmed up some by the time we went out, and I have to admit that it was a beautiful day (for Fall 😂). I had my scarf on against the cool breeze, but the sun felt quite nice and the hat came off right away.

Didn’t see too much wildlife at all and the pond was completely quiet. Don’t think we’ve ever seen the water level quite this high!

Since Wenche was gone for the rest of the afternoon, despite dragging pretty hard and wanting to lay down, I was tasked with doing the laundry. Got the bedding done and put back together, looked at it longingly, and went back to work. Additionally, that left me to make pizza for us for dinner.

The sensor on the dryer doesn’t seem to really work all that well; sure, the stuff is dry, but anywhere it’s thick, like pockets or seams, it’s still damp. So I ran each load with the sensor and then another timed twenty minutes, and they came out better. Folded all my stuff and put it away, cleaned a bit in the kitchen and then started making the pizza.

I ran down to the local store and was finally able to find some coffee filters (the grocery store has been out for weeks!) and randomly decided to check the RedBox. They had Free Guy available finally and so I snatched it right quick!

Had a little time in between loads, and I made some more progress on Resident Evil 4. Had a serious boss battle, but it didn’t end up being all that bad once I drilled him a couple headshots with my Magnum. Sadly, though, I think I’m into the last chapter now…only a few more levels and the game will be over. 😢 I suppose I could try a replay on a harder difficulty, but I think that’s likely to be frustrating as hell. We’ll see.

Wenche got home a little earlier than expected and she finished up making the pizza and we watched the movie. I enjoyed it a lot!!! There was one or two preachy spots, but they sort of mocked it or embedded it, so it wasn’t as blatant and manipulative as most movies. Certainly a movie up my alley…I like the questioning reality style and it was like an over-the-top Matrix, basically. Either way, probably worth another watch.

Started passing out before the movie ended, but I did wake up and catch the end. Wenche put on Scream Queens, but I don’t think I made it five minutes in. Little did I know that I was going to be woken up by the wife and dog at eleven thirty (to look at a bump that might have been a tick) and then again at twelve thirty when there was a big old possum on the back porch and the dog wanted a fight. Needless to say, another rough night…

How forty-one is fifty-eight is beyond me, but heck, I’ll take it! dShitty is still failing to fulfill its promises, but I’ll take the itty bitty drip of HIVE, at least that’s something in return…more than I can say for most “play-to-earn” games on this chain.

Still not ready to let this CryptoBrewmaster shit go. 🤬 I’d be happy to walk away, if only I could. It was a waste of time from the beginning, but I’m still not prepared to call all that time a complete loss, even though it’s more or less a simple hard truth I’m going to have to face.

Went in once or twice on Rising Star. Seems like the login is “fixed,” meaning that I only have to type out the whole address and my complete username once every time. 🥴 Just waiting for this one to implode too, but I may very well just get bored with it before that.

Played my Splinterlands quest relatively early today. Was busy doing laundry and cooking dinner, but got some battles in when I took a break.

I did struggle a little bit, but got the quest done at about the same ranking as when I started. Got a couple more cards and a pretty nice chunk of DEC:

Went in on the market and picked up a couple more of the Pelacore Mercenary. I’m still yet to use it in more than one battle (I have better Green tanks), but it’s getting closer to getting healing, at which point it becomes a tougher choice.
