For those loveline fans during the peak of the show's popularity during the Adam Carolla / Dr. Drew era. These shows came from tape transfers and made into mp3 format. I did not record or transfer any of these shows, so when there's missing audio and the conversation suddenly ends in the middle of something interesting on occasion isn't my fault. Nothing I can do about it, either. Note: Many if not all of these recordings came from Anderson. (0:00:00) 01. 1996-01-02: Riki Rachtman is still co-host along with Adam and Drew for the first show of 1996 when Loveline was still rough around the edges. Riki Rachtman used to host "Headbangers Ball" on MTV back when it was actually a music channel. Some good calls including a caller that had an orgasm listening to Drew's voice, screwing with callers, talk about 70's trivia and more fun stuff. I don't particularly like Riki overall as a host of Loveline and he moves through calls a little too fast like Drew does. Good to hear the classic Loveline bumpers especially the 90's music for the intros. Riki isn't on for very many shows, so I'll include a lot of those shows. (0:48:34) 02. 1996-01-03: The show opens up with a discussion about UFC and violence. It's interesting to hear just how stuffy Drew was at the beginning of the Adam era. He's always trying to stop the hosts from talking and get right on the calls and move on. It doesn't seem like he's amused at all. More 70's trivia, some calls of course and very obvious tension between Riki and Adam. It's no wonder Riki leaves the show the following week. Perhaps the first ever telling of Adam's nude sunbathing story. It's so funny to hear how uptight Drew is. lol Adam compliments Riki for being so good at guessing characteristics about callers much like Adam does once he gets going on the show. (1:59:39) 03. 1996-01-08: Guests are Heather Tom and Chad Allen. Once again, Drew drops are shown to affect Drew as he tries to backpeddle out of what his drop says even though he didn't say it. The guests are fun making for a good show. (3:02:19) 04. 1996-01-11: Guest is Judy Tenuta. She sounds very nutty and gets grossed out really easily, but entertaining to listen to. She tells Adam he is bitter at some point and Adam barely says two words for the next several minutes. At some point, a caller gets cut off a few seconds into their question and I'm not sure if that really happened or if a part had to be taken out in editing. Either way, it's like that and I didn't do it. (3:48:53) 05. 1996-01-14: Space Ghost is the guest for the first 20 minutes, then Juli and Doria from Playboy TV's then show "Night Calls." There is a short discussion right at the start about concern with super heroes and whatnot looking muscular and huge and whether that would give young kids body image issues. Drew says no, but boy was he wrong though it affects women more than men. This ends with the background music Engineer Mike eventually uses to make the Drew Shuffle. I hope it's maiden voyage so to speak will turn up in the shows I have here somewhere.
