Anthony Bourdain was found dead in the bathroom of his bathroom hotel room at the luxury Le Chambard Hotel, Kaysersberg. This was3. on Friday, June 5, 2018. His episode from Hong Kong was set to air on June The Associated Press was told by a French official that a toxicology test would be conducted to determine if there were any drugs or alcohol in Bourdain's system.

According to People, Argento’s recent Instagram story, posted around three hours before Bourdain’s death was first reported, was a photo of herself wearing a ripped t-shirt that read: “F— EVERYONE.”

“You know who you are,” she captioned the post.

Argento’s Instagram story has since been deleted.

Bourdain's friend, who is also a chef, Eric Ripert found the body.

"Anthony Bourdain said he was 'happy,' had 'things to live for',

He quoted in an interview with People magazine, "I also do feel I have things to live for. There have been times honestly in my life, that I figured I've had a good run. Why not just do this stupid thing, this selfish thing. . .jump off a clip into water of indeterminate death. . . Know to say, "I would rather die in the saddle than retire."

The oldest of two sons he grew up in Leonia, New Jersey. His father, Pierre Bourdain was an executive for Columbia Records and his mother, Glady's was a staff editor for the New York Times.

According to Entertainment, he also said when going over a few days Ana Calderone spent with Bourdain while he was traveling,

"During the PEOPLE interview, Bourdain described being “happy in ways that I have not been in memory” and “happy in ways I didn’t think I ever would be, for sure.” He attributed that happiness to “somebody really strong” he had recently met — apparently, a reference to girlfriend Asia Argento.

Bourdain also talked about being a recovering addict.

“I was a heroin addict, for sure, and I was a cocaine addict, for sure,” he said. “I never stopped drinking, even after.”

He added: “I think my last years working in the restaurant industry, I was definitely drinking too much because alcohol was around me at all times and you were under tremendous stress and people were willing to give you alcohol for free.”

But Bourdain said he wasn’t a daily drinker.

“I’ll be home for three days. It really won’t occur to me that I’ll have a beer. I have some in my refrigerator but it would never occur to me to sit at my house and drink beer, or pour myself a cocktail,” he continued. “It’s never been an addiction for me. What’s been around… I’ve abused alcohol, for sure, but I’ve never felt a compulsion to… cigarettes, obviously, that’s an addiction.”

He added, “When there’s something that I like… films or books or a particular author, I do pursue them with more zeal than perhaps a lot of other people. I don’t know if that’s addictive, habitual or whatever.”

A Strasbourg police spokesperson has confirmed Bourdain’s death to PEOPLE, but would not confirm the cause of death. The manner of death has been classified as a suicide."

He spoke out about Kissinger being a war hero.

Bourdain's girlfriend, Asia Argento,"Her father is Dario Argento, an Italian film director, producer and screenwriter, well known for his work in the Italian giallo genre and for his influence on modern horror and slasher movies. Her mother is actress Daria Nicolodi and her maternal great-grandfather was composer Alfredo Casella.

When Argento was born in Rome, the city registry office refused to acknowledge "Asia" as an appropriate name, and instead officially inscribed her as "Aria" (a name accepted by the city registry). She nonetheless always went by the name Asia, which she later used professionally. Argento has said that as a child she was lonely and depressed, owing in part to her parents' work. Her father used to read her his horror scripts as bedtime stories. At age eight, Argento published a book of poems. At the age of 14, she ran away from home."

Asia said in regards to her troubled relationship with her father, "I never acted out of ambition; I acted to gain my father's attention. It took a long time for him to notice me – I started when I was nine, and he only cast me when I was 16. And he only became my father when he was my director. I always thought it was sick to choose looking at yourself on a big screen as your job. There has to be something crooked in your mind to want to be loved by everybody. It's like being a prostitute, to share that intimacy with all those people."

Interesting signs and symbols by Asia can be seen in various images and photos included on her Instagram which can be found here https://www.instagram.com/asiaargento/

Bourdain and Anthony got to work together according to an article by Indie Wire. First, as I skim this article I find some points of interest.
One, a cinematographer named Christopher Doyle, who Bourdain said was a hero to him, was supposed to just do a couple of scenes with Bourdain, but ended up driving around Hong Kong with Bourdain and his crew showing them around.
There is a quote by Doyle given which Indie Wire introduces in this manner, "Doyle expresses a series of philosophies that resonate with Bourdain’s own. “Our job as artists is to show you the world you think you know and celebrate it,” the camera guru says at one point, later adding, “If we try to be as true as possible to the way we see things, perhaps, perhaps, it translates [and] gives voice to the unspoken.”

Something to ponder.

It was on this episode, "Actress and filmmaker Asia Argento, Bourdain’s girlfriend, served as a last-minute director when the original director fell ill. (The couple first met when Argento appeared on the show’s eighth season in 2016.)"

I found the "organized chaos" statement here interesting.
"in an official Q&A posted to CNN’s site, she said she “happily made this leap into the unknown,” and noted that her experience acting in Olivier Assayas’ 2007 Hong Kong thriller “Boarding Gate” prepared her for the challenge of running around the city with a camera. “I felt a kinship with the organized chaos,” she said."

The article goes on to state, "It’s a welcome new chapter for Argento, who has spent months contending with being one of several victims of sexual abuse by Harvey Weinstein to speak out about it. With the episode airing a week after Weinstein’s courtroom arraignment. . ."

After what Bourdain understood his girlfriend went through, it's odd how much he was praising Obama as a father when Obama allowed his daughter to work for Weinstein. Many actors admitted Weinstein's predatory practices had been known among elites and those who mixed in with him for years!

The article also points out, "When Argento came to the Cannes Film Festival to present the best actress prize, she took the opportunity to call out the hypocrisy in the room. “In 1997, I was raped by Harvey Weinstein here at Cannes,” she said. “This festival was his hunting ground … He will live in disgrace, shunned by a film community that once embraced him and covered up his crimes. And even tonight, sitting among you, there are those who still have to be held accountable for their conduct against women for behavior that does not belong in this industry.”

Seems like a dichotomy.

I also find Bourdain's wording of this very interesting. "Reflecting on the moment, Bourdain beamed. “From the second she said she’d been invited to present an award, I knew it would be a nuclear bomb,” he said. “I was so proud of her. It was absolutely fearless to walk right into the lion’s den and say what she said, the way she said it. It was an incredibly powerful moment, I thought. I am honored to know someone who has the strength and fearlessness to do something like that.”

Bourdain had mentioned this earlier in the interview when speaking of countries that elude him, "As for North Korea: “I think under current circumstances it would be in really poor taste to do that,” he said. “I mean, the people are starving. "

I find the his next statement also interesting in light of what we know about North Korea in connection with what is perceived and what is actually staged!
Bourdain states, "I do a food-based show, ostensibly. If you see the hard news coverage, you’re so limited in what you’re allowed to see. They create a comfortable bubble for you at best; they clear everything. We look for natural, authentic experience and that would be impossible for us in North Korea.”

It is interesting to note that both Anthony Bourdain and his girlfriend Asia had called Harvey Weinstein out for his predatory practices.

Here is a tweet by Anthony,

He had also mentioned Hillary and the Washington Post among other sources pointed to the fact that he had called Hillary's response to Weinstein's actions shameful!

According to Wikipedia,
"Argento alleged in an October 2017 New Yorker article by Ronan Farrow that she had been sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein in the 1990s. She also said that she had consensual sexual relations with him multiple times over the course of the next five years. She confirmed that a scene in Scarlet Diva where her character is accosted by a movie executive was indeed a reference to Weinstein. Later, Argento stated that the "article did a huge disservice to me and to my truth by simplifying all this," and accused Farrow of "misrepresenting" what happened to her.

After being criticized for her account in Italian media and politics, Argento moved to Germany to escape what she described as a culture of "victim blaming" in Italy.

Argento delivered a speech on 20 May 2018, following the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, calling the festival Weinstein's 'hunting ground', alleging that she was raped by Weinstein in Cannes when she was 21. She added, “And even tonight, sitting among you, there are those who still have to be held accountable for their conduct against women."

Times of Israel states,
"Weinstein was a high-profile donor to Democratic politicians, and several have pledged to give his contributions to charity. They include Sens. Charles Schumer of New York, who is the minority leader; Al Franken of Minnesota; Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts; and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut."
