# Welcome Dear Photography Lovers # Bienvenidos Queridos Amantes de la Fotografía

El animalito que hoy les muestro en mis imágenes, aunque es bastante pequeña, a muchos, con solo verla nos hace dar un paso atrás e incluso a algunos salir corriendo despavoridos, aunque claro, también tiene su club fans. Se, que les precede su mala fama por ser portadoras de veneno, pero lo cierto es, que su veneno en la mayoría de los casos no representa un peligro para los humanos. Y, por el contrario, nos gusten o no, estos artrópodos, son una parte esencialmente importante para el medio ambiente, incluyendo el ecosistema existente internamente en nuestros hogares.

I know that they have a bad reputation for being carriers of poison, but the truth is that their venom in most cases does not represent a danger to humans. Los arácnidos, a nivel general, son realmente extraordinarios, depredadores por excelencia, sus ocho patas le permiten trepar paredes, logrando encontrar los mejores escondites para no ser percibidas durante mucho tiempo. En ese oscuro, e insospechado rincón, se ocultan acechando a sus potenciales víctimas, esperando el momento oportuno para atacarlas, inmovilizando finalmente a sus presas. Que, para suerte nuestra, normalmente son esos bichitos que nos molestan tanto, como los mosquitos, moscas, y las asquerosas cucarachas.

> ##### *Arachnids, in general, are really extraordinary, predators par excellence, their eight legs allow them to climb walls, managing to find the best hiding places to remain unnoticed for a long time. Poseen una grandiosa capacidad de adaptación a distintos ambientes, incluyendo nuestros hogares, algunas especies las vemos de forma regular en nuestras casas. Otras, por el contrario, nos visitan muy ocasionalmente, como es el caso de mi modelo, popularmente llamada Araña Lobo o Corredora de Jardín. Esta especie de araña en particular, es mejor conocida en el mundo científico como Lycosa Erythrognatha, perteneciendo a la familia de las Lycosidae y al género de las Lycosa.

> ##### *They have a great capacity to adapt to different environments, including our homes, and some species are regularly seen in our homes. Others, on the contrary, visit us very occasionally, as is the case of my model, popularly called the Wolf Spider or Garden Runner. This particular spider species is better known in the scientific world as Lycosa Erythrognatha, belonging to the Lycosidae family and the Lycosa genus.*

Esta arañita es oriunda de Suramérica y exceptuando sus patas, posee un tamaño que oscila los 3 cm. Al igual que otras especies del género de las Lycosa, sus ojos se encuentran distribuidos en tres filas de la siguiente manera, la fila superior posee 2 pequeños ojitos, en la fila inferior se ubican 4 ojos, los cuales también son pequeños. Ahora, la fila central se diferencia de las anteriores, porque en esta se ubican 2 grandes ojos, con estos, en total, esta pequeña arañita posee 8 ojos. Otro rasgo que la caracteriza son sus largas y espinosa patas, las cuales no poseen el mismo tamaño, ya que, el 1er y 3er par de patas son más cortas, le siguen en tamaño en 2do par de patas, siendo las más largas las del 4to par de patas.

> ##### *This spider is native to South America and, except for its legs, has a size of about 3 cm. Like other species of the Lycosa genus, its eyes are distributed in three rows as follows: the upper row has 2 small eyes, in the lower row there are 4 eyes, which are also small. Now, the central row is different from the previous ones, because in this one there are 2 big eyes, with these, in total, this little spider has 8 eyes. Another feature that characterizes it is its long and spiny legs, which do not have the same size, since the 1st and 3rd pair of legs are shorter, followed in size by the 2nd pair of legs, being the longest the 4th pair of legs.*

Como pueden observar en las imágenes, posee un característico color castaño, con unas franjas entre marrón oscuro y negro en la parte superior de su cuerpo. En su hábitat natural, normalmente se encuentran en espacios que se caracterizan por poseer tierras secas y arenosa, donde les sea posible correr directamente en el suelo, a través de pasto. Pero eso sí, son de hábitos nocturnos, así que, durante el día permanecen ocultas, dentro de alguna cueva, debajo de alguna piedra, corteza o tronco de algún árbol o simplemente se ocultan debajo de cualquier objeto que se encuentre en el suelo. Ahora, en áreas urbanas las podemos encontrar principalmente, en lugares donde se ubiquen amplios jardines o terrenos baldíos.

> ##### *As you can see in the pictures, it has a characteristic brown color, with dark brown to black stripes on the upper part of its body. In their natural habitat, they are normally found in spaces characterized by dry and sandy lands, where it is possible for them to run directly on the ground, through grass. However, they are nocturnal, so during the day they remain hidden in a cave, under a stone, bark or tree trunk, or simply hide under any object on the ground. Now, in urban areas we can find them mainly in places where there are large gardens or vacant lots.*

Para finalizar, quería comentarles, algo realmente curioso, y es que la hembra después de copular trata de comerse al macho, por ello el macho después de terminar el acto sexual, siempre está dispuesto a huir por su vida lo más rápido posible, jajaja. En otro orden de ideas, la hembra para proteger sus huevos, les teje una especie de cubierta con forma de esfera llamada Ooteca, la cual fija a ella usando unos hilos, de esa forma siempre los lleva con ella. Una vez nacen las crías se los lleva encima de su lomo, hasta que maduran lo suficiente para poder dispersarse. Bueno, con esto me despido esperando que los pocos datos que les he compartido sobre esta singular araña, les sirva para conocerla un poco más. Además, espero que la próxima vez que la vean en sus casas, la traten con amabilidad, ya que, no es nuestra enemiga, más bien, es nuestra aliada en la lucha contra los insectos peligrosos que puedan entrar en nuestro hogar. ¡HASTA LA PRÓXIMA!

> ##### *Finally, I wanted to tell you something really curious, and that is that the female after copulating tries to eat the male, so the male after finishing the sexual act, is always ready to flee for his life as quickly as possible, hahaha. In another order of ideas, the female, in order to protect her eggs, weaves them a kind of sphere-shaped cover called Ooteca, which she fixes to her using some threads, that way she always carries them with her. Once the hatchlings are born, she carries them on her back until they are mature enough to disperse.
