They have access to water, no doubt about that! A bit salty though.
- Dolphins get fresh water by absorbing liquids from the food (fish and squid contain large amounts of water).
- What is more interesting is that when they burn body fat water is also released and used.
Some adaptations help them to retain enough water.
- Their kidneys are specially adapted for that and they don’t lose water by sweating.
