Which penguin lays its eggs on ice

Most Antaractic penguins breed on land in summer. But emperor penguins breed in winter out on the freezing ice. In April they trek 100km (60 miles) to traditional nesting sites where they mate. Then the females head back to the sea and the males are Left to incubate the eggs.
