Ploughshare Tortoise belongs to the class of reptilia. They are only found on the island of Madagascar. They have a highly domed shape and are light brown in color. The males are larger in size as compared to the females. They are very close to the extinction. They are expected to be a total of 500 in numbers. They are usually captured to be sold in the international pet trade and are smuggled illegally. Certain preventive measures have been taken for the survival of these endangered species.
