Naturally Beat Allergies Part 2

Hey everyone, I'm back continuing my series of posts on natural ways to beat seasonal allergies. If you read my last post, Outsmart Seasonal Allergies Part 1 you will know that I listed raw, unfiltered local honey as one way to beat seasonal allergies. Today I will be discussing another natural method. Today's natural method is probiotics...the "friendly" bacteria.

Probiotics are very important for GI health...or "gut" health. Having a healthy gut means having a healthy stomach. Having a healthy stomach will help improve digestion and the immune system. Improving your immune system could drastically help improve the root cause of your allergic reactions. This is especially true if you have recently taken antibiotics. Antibiotics are good for killing "bad" bacteria, however, they will also kill good bacteria as well. If you recently had to take antibiotics, try supplementing probiotics to help rebuild the good bacteria in your gut.

Look to add fermented foods and foods with live cultures to your diet to increase your intake of healthy probiotics. Some examples are Kefir and yogurt. Kefir is a yogurt drink loaded with probiotics. If you prefer regular yogurt, make sure it contains "live cultures." Sauerkraut and Kimchi are examples of fermentable foods that contain probiotics. And you could also drink Kombucha as well.

Well there you have it. This was part 2. So far we have local honey that is raw and unfiltered and now we have probiotics as natural ways to outsmart seasonal allergies. Be on the lookout for more to come. Thanks for stopping by.
