Today is the start of a long weekend in Canada, it’s the Victoria Day weekend. Officially it celebrates the sovereign’s birthday. Traditionally, it’s the weekend that kicks off the summer period. People open their cottages, plant gardens, finish yard cleanup and generally get ready for summer.
It’s not something that makes much difference to me but I decided to use the theme to play in Midjourney. I started in ChatGPT by having it create some fun and quirky generative art prompts. Then I thought, gee why not have it decide on art and colour styles for the prompts. I told it to rewrite the prompts with art and colour styles. Then I got the bright idea of let’s have some fun and let the weekend go to the dogs, and cats. Another rewrite was directed.
I did fifteen prompts and will bring them to you five today, and five each for Saturday and Sunday. The added bonus is Saturday is Caturday. The official holiday is Monday, not today. Since I publish the PYPT recap on Monday, I’m making today my holday so to speak.
Here’s the first five of what this playing produced. I’ve added some commentary where I can.
Victoria Day Fireworks
In the wee little town of Pawsburgh, the cats and dogs host their own Victoria Day celebration. As night falls, a dazzling display of fireworks blasts off, forming vibrant maple leaves across the sky. There might some singed whiskers and tails in the process, but their spirits were undeterred. After all, what's a holiday without a little adventure?
Side note: fireworks are not my favourite activity especially when it terrifies animals. The pic was fun and safe to make though.
Beer Garden
On a sunlit Victoria Day weekend, two dogs, a playful Bulldog and a cunning Golden Retriever, find the beer garden. Beer cans bloom into flowers. The dogs water the beer-flora eyeing the budweiser blossoms. They moved in to grab a sip, more. Instead, they inhaled dandelion fluff, and started sneezing that echoed throughout the garden, setting off canine laughter. They brushed away the the fluff and enjoyed their buds.
The Cottage Transformer
The group of pets arrived at the cottage to open it for the season and got more than expected. As they opened it up, the cottage morphed into a futuristic space station like abode complete with high-tech gadgetry built for their paws. One white Persian cat, peering out from behind the sofa, remarked, "I always knew the toilet seat was a teleportation device!"
"Can"-oe Adventure
The beer river lived up to it's name as the group of dogs canoed through the frothy waves. They struggled to avoid the 'beer rapids' before giving up as the canoe overturned. They were soaked and happy s they lapped up beer and splashed each other.
The Ride of the Maple Leaf
It was a sunny afternoon when the gang decided to mount up and chase maple leaves. They roared through fields and forests, obvr hills and rivers dragging those they caught behind their bikes. At the end of the day they were exhausted managing the bikes instead of running. They agreed to chase them on the ground next time.
