Kiara began her hiking journey along with her parents when she was just 2 months shy of her 2 years birthday. It was a 7 miles round trip to Mt Diablo, California and she hiked all the way to and back with very little help from us. Of course, we took a lot of little breaks in between for water and snacks. But she did great.

We didnt bring any baby carrier with us since we were not really keen about reaching to the destination and thought we will stop when she gets tired. We just wanted to hang out with her and enjoy the fresh air. But the more we walked the more she surprised us with the energy and enthusiasm. She loved exploring through out the trail. 
Her dada put her on his shoulders for a little while when she gets tired. But overall she hiked like a champ 
It was a nice refreshing experience for us as a family from the crazy fast paced world. Hiking with a toddler will force you to slow down and experience the nature in a different way. 
Kiara was not ready to go back home even after the 5 hrs of hiking . Me and my husband was tired and wanted to rest.She still had energy left in her. You can see her in this picture wayy behind me still exploring something on the trail
