A big part of the adoption of cryptocurrency is to have people actually using the applications that are developed.
Overall, this is a slow process; one the industry has not had much success with.
We all know that Steem has some of the leading applications in the entire blockchain space in terms of usage. A quick look at a site like Stateofthedapps.com tells the story.
That said, I wanted to highlight the growth rate of @actifit during the last month. Looking at the numbers shows an incredible jump in such a short period of time. I would be interested to know where the increase came from but, for now, we will just have the raw data to review.

This week saw only one day under 700 with a couple that surpassed 900. What is even more encouraging is the fact that there were more first time users compared to the month before. Hopefully, this will translate into even greater numbers going forward as new users get in the habit of posting their steps.

This morning we are excited to report that our 10-day retention figures have reached 1,000 active users.
What this means is that we have more than 1,000 active users who have actively posted within the last 10 days more than once. This is definitely a positive indicator for adoption and continuity of actifit usage.

The average for the first week last month was about 578 users per day. This month, that number jumped to near 806.
This is a monthly increase of 39.6% in terms of users.
On the new user front the average almost doubled from 9.57 to 18.42.
It is wonderful to see such a nice move up for an application that just celebrated its 1 year anniversary on Steem. Adoption is something that is slow to come by and it will be interesting to see if Actifit can keep it up.
Certainly, we will see ebb and flows in the rate but this single month jump shows the potential is there.
What is nice about Actifit is that it is one of the applications that excels at "ease of use". It is not overly complex and, if someone understands how Steem works, he or she can start using the Actifit app in mere moments.
The other exciting part of this is that Actifit, through the upvote out of the main account, is spreading the distribution of SP around. Each upvote puts a bit of SP into the wallets of each user. This is in addition to the other tokens such as SPORTs, Palnet, and ZZAN.
Our little victories keep building.
