Hi everyone, it's @lizanomadsoul here with the Monday edition of the #TravelDigest.
This time we have great stories from Iceland, Lithuania, Alaska, Portugal, Singapore, the UK, the US, Spain, Thailand, Indonesia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Hungary, Italy, Japan, and Pakistan in our selection - so a little bit of everything! - Enjoy ;)
Summer in Iceland is short but intense. It’s nice to enjoy the warm weather and long days :) Now it’s slowly coming to an end, so I can finally get back to posting here.
Exactly a year ago, I was on a road trip around Iceland, somewhere between Egilsstaðir and Lake Mývatn. And that works out perfectly, because today I wanted to share with you some memories from that day.

A few days ago, I had the chance to visit Trakai, one of the most charming towns in Lithuania, together with my parents. Surprisingly, although I had been there before, it was the very first time for them. Since Trakai is considered one of the country’s most famous tourist destinations, I thought it would be a perfect day trip to explore history, culture, food, and even nature. What started as a visit to the legendary Trakai Island Castle eventually turned into a full-day adventure that included a boat ride, tasting traditional kibinai, walking up the Hill of Angels, and even experiencing a unique barefoot trail not far from the town.

Hello, fellow travelers, thank you always for joining me on my adventure. Today I'm delighted because after traveling 100 km from Lisbon, I was able to visit one of the castles I've been wanting to see since I joined HIVE. A while back, I wrote a post where I mentioned my goal of getting to know all of Portugal's wonderful fortifications. I've actually lost count, but I must have visited more than 30 in total! From what I was able to explore, this is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved in the southern region (Alentejo).🧭📸
