Not many of you know how to install it properly on the linux machine, due to a lib that at least to me, it says it's damaged.

I found another way to install the necessary components to make it work.
As you may know, I installed Linux Mint, which is the best compromise I could find to migrate from Windows(since it's the closest thing that helps me find myself "at home")
Ready for the passages?

Firstly I directed myself over Elixir website, and I was like, ok I had issues with Windows for the installation that never succeeded, maybe I can do it the easy way on here...I was a little wrong.
The istructions just told me, ok, add our repos, then install erlang and then elixir, easy right?
If it wasn't for a problem during the installation of erlang I would never been found myself here writing a post about it. a lib, called "libssl0.9.8" apparently was uh, missing/broken/adbucted by aliens so I got in panic, and tried to install it in any possible way, but hey, internet has always an userful answer, so I deeply scanned it for a good solution, and mother DDG found me what I needed:

Erlang Solutions which gives you .deb files that contains what it's really necessary for making it work. So, since I was stuck to the second passage which is the intermediary for the final Elixir installation, I firstly found the version which was kindly compatible with my Mint, then downloaded & installed. Perfect. Now turn of Elixir, same passages.

Now you have, apparently, a working Elixir on your machine. Now what, shall we see if it really works? great! Let's go!

Time to go and install Atom a very cute not "Dos-like" editor, sorry Vim lovers, I still need to get used to it so I'll prefer Atom this time. I installed some packages:

Where I found the suggestions on what to install: https://brainlid.org/elixir/2015/11/12/atom-editor-and-elixir.html

Ok, those are what you need to have fully Elixir enviroment where it "understands" Elixir, able to run code/slices of code, compiling, autocompletition, running the project and shows error if there are any.

Now that we assembled our "war machine" let's make it say "Hello Steemit!"

Let's run the elixir terminal: packages, iex and open a bottom session. Yay it's operative!
Now, write the following:

IO.puts "Hello Steemit!"

Press Enter. Enjoy the result.

Happy Learning! Maybe I will ask to my friend to give me a kick for Elixir.
