I hope I can help bring some clarity... The CTP site Wanderingmoon was referring to is what is known as a "safelist." Basically, a way to email offers and other things out to folks without risking getting your emails marked as spam, because the people on the mailing list have agreed to receive that type of message.

Apparently there's someone on that list with the name snooks. Wanderingmoon just tagged you in error, not noticing the difference in your names.

No scam involved!
