An open response to guiltyparties@guiltyparties and his entities spaminator@spaminator and hivewatchers@hivewatchers,

Clarification is needed here as clearly this is directed my way.

Removing a witness vote isn’t any sort of threat. It’s simply the removal of a vote of confidence.

Tweeting about Hive for 1 day (while promoting it for free for months) isn’t trolling Hive. It’s speaking publicly about what is relevant on Hive at this critical point in our development. AND IT IS TO MAKE A VERY REAL POINT.

With the unfriendly implementations the hivewatchers@hivewatchers and spaminator@spaminator have been taking Hive is currently in an unmarketable state.

What that means is... there isn’t any way in hell or high water that an investor, business man, or influencer will knowingly move onto an unfriendly Hive.

We work extremely hard on all social2.0 platforms to promote Hive day after day. I personally promote Hive anywhere from 1 to 5 hours a day... I came back to Twitter for the sole purpose of promoting Hive in fact...

But you, sir, are doing Hive no favours in the implementation of Hive Integrity. Yes! The identification of legitimately bad behaviour is important... vital in fact. And it is likely a thankless job wrought with risk. BUT how one goes about the implementation of those security measures is just as important and may even be more important to Hive’s future than ever before.

How we treat our own(ers) does matter. This isn’t about “special treatment” it’s about the implementation of policies and practices that should be done at a code level... NOT A HUMAN ONE.

It might feel self-important to be doing thankless work like this... but in the end you are self-appointed and therefore should be held to a higher standard than even the people you are judging. To not do so leaves you wide open to all sorts of litigation and risk... especially when you consider that this isn’t just a social platform... it’s also an investment platform where people have not just invested their time... but also their real and actual financial capital.

This being said... this is actually really about the preservation and compounding of social capital!

Spam downvoting (yes... I can come up with labels and terms as well!) a contributing owner for ranking their comments (and other people’s comments mostly!) as is allowed by the fundamental codes you maintain as a Hive Witness... so based on this fact your actions aren’t just a standard procedure fairly dispensed upon all your fellow Hive owners... it’s really one human deciding what is “right” and “wrong” for another’s account and subsequent stake.

It’s a form of abuse and anyone with less chops, than yours truly, (perhaps someone new or with less skin in the game) would just walk away from such nonsense and never give Hive a real world chance... and certainly wouldn’t have much good to say on the social2.0’s let alone invest their hard earned capital and tell their friends about their experience on Hive!

They would think to themselves...

“But I thought that Hive was this censorship free decentralized way to own my content and have a voice!? The Hive Blockchain allows for a self ranking of my comment does it not? Everywhere else freely let’s me do this... Why then is a centralized entity patrolling the halls to make sure I fall in line here...?”

And so on and so forth...

You can see how slippery this slope actually is... especially when you consider all the new people we are bending over backwards to bring here to the Hive Destination.

Because that’s what Hive is... to me and others like me! It’s our home.

When practices like the ones being implemented by your entities spaminator@spaminator and hivewatchers@hivewatchers become unfriendly methods implemented by human opinions, both about political (yes! POLITICAL! @Apshamilton can vouch for this statement.) AND in the face of already coded intelligent design as is baked into our existing blockchain...

It can only be considered harmful for Hive and unfriendly to its community of owners.

These practices absolutely MUST be STOPPED. The community deserves the implementation of Hive security that answers and transparently reports to the community as a whole. Not just a subsection of our community.

This is a fine line for a centralized human organization to walk as it does not take into account the entire networks social constructs, values, and and DPOS (weight) which is undeniably built right into our system of governance.

This is the organizational structure we pride ourselves in pioneering and it is what sets us apart from the other crypto projects out there.

In the end... it’s not about what one small group of people thinks is “right” and “wrong” it is about what we all deem to be “right” and “wrong” situation by situation.

Innovating new and better ways to human isn’t about having ridged and static minds at the helm... it’s about realizing we are making history here on Hive TOGETHER!

It might be easy to trust a singular entity... but we wouldn’t be innovating the way we are and telling everyone on social2.0 about it if this was truly the way forward. This is NOT a trustworthy way to proceed into a better social future. THAT is exactly why we have come to Hive and THAT is exactly what we have come here to do.

And this can’t happen without accountability, candid feedback, and an insistence from the community for the maintaining of practices that keep Hive a FRIENDLY one.

This is addressed not just to you guiltyparties@guiltyparties... this is addressed openly and for all to see here and on my blog seeing as everything you and I do is openly public on the Hive Blockchain:
@wil.metcalfe/the-unfriendlies-of-hive-abuse

This isn’t about some nationalistic bent... it’s about us all. It’s about HOW we decide to proceed into the future TOGETHER.

I, personally, believe that there is a place for a downvote... and I maintain my downvotes for two things on this blockchain...

  1. Consistent posting of low grade, low care content.
  2. AND unfriendly, dishonest, in-genuine, activity on this blockchain.

I also save my (yes... it’s my account right?) UPvotes for 2 things on this blockchain...

  1. Sincere, genuine, informative, interesting, exciting, and quality content.
  2. Friendly people spreading good Wil and compounding trust wherever they go. 🙌

Together we #Win and I want to celebrate those wins with people.

But none of that can happen in obscurity and alone. Attention and influence (#SocialCapital) is what the Hive Token grants and that is a primary reason EVERYONE should be buying rather than selling right now! Ranking my comments isn’t about taking profits... it’s about #SocialCapital and more eyes on the message I intend to spread here on Hive. (A friendlier Hive!)

As an owner THAT is why I INVESTED over $100,000 USD in this platform (and continue to do so) and it is why I continue to build and make Hive a fitness destination (and will continue to do so.)

My DPOS is mine to direct and I direct it towards the people doing more good than harm on this blockchain and it is absolutely dysfunctional to think that a small group of opinionated humans can supersede the ACTUAL CODE OF LAW PROGRAMMED INTO THIS BLOCKCHAIN.

I want the full effect of my invested capital. I took perfectly good Bitcoin and invested it in the Hive Blockchain... and I did all of this... because I believed that Social Capital on Hive was more important.

The Hive community was more important. The people making use of this new and innovative way to human were more Important.

To not allow full function of an owners account... to not allow full function of ones DPOS... according to the laws of our fundamental codes... AND IS A RIDICULOUS ATTEMPT TO HAMSTRING THE FUNCTIONALITY OF AN ACCOUNT BY SMALLER MINDS.

This smacks of centralization and humans attempting to overreach at the expense of everyone attempting to make good things happen on this blockchain.

For those who might be questioning my sincerity... actions speak louder than words...

You can check my Hive Wallet and scroll through years of transactions.

I truly do believe that Social Capital comes before Financial Capital and I’m willing to invest half of my Bitcoin because I believe the new economy we are building here on Hive is going to change the world!

I am a Hive Maximalist in financial terms with nothing but PowerUP’s to date... but more so... I am a FULL BELIEVER in this community of amazing people.

THAT is why, for years now, I have been LITERALLY GIVING AWAY THOUSANDS OF HIVE!

Accusing me of Comment Farming is there fore unwarranted, insulting, and to your determent unfriendly at its core.

Comment Ranking should never automatically be considered bad for this Blockchain... and I don’t think that it is your right to impose that misguided belief upon the other owners of Hive.

To do so only creates an unfriendly social environment... and environment where we can not in good conscience invite our friends, family, or famous... let alone invest with any assurance or build our business’s and communities with any confidence.

It is you, therefore, that have some serious answering to do... and not privately within your discord channel... but publicly here on the Hive Blockchain, the place WE ALL CALL HOME.

Sincerely and seriously,

wil.metcalfe@wil.metcalfe

P.S. I have read your comment about about American Politics having no baring on what you are doing here on Hive. However... I do know that you have made political comments in the past rather than maintain an apolitical (and professional) stance. Here is your comment (via hivewatchers@hivewatchers) to that end just in case there are those among us who feel that your personal and political leanings may be an important aspect to the overall integrity of your “services”.
@regenerette/hive-owned-by-companies-and
I happen to know that you reside in Canada as do I. Is this correct?

What this means is your actions fall within my countries domain. Need I say more?

Please seriously reconsider your stance as it is as big a concern as any spam or plagiarism you may be dealing with on your end.

You are clearly outside scope and jurisdiction. The accusations you have levied against me (and other Hive owners) should and MUST reneged.

In addition all further policies and procedures implemented by your entities spaminator@spaminator and @HiveWatchers must abide by and operate within the actual constraints this Blockchain defaults to in terms of the functionality of Hive’s programmed code.

None of these labels or accusations against me hold water as they fall within the realm of human opinion and conjecture.

To dictate such is a clear violation of our rights, as owners, to access & operate fully functioning Hive accounts.

This simply will not be tolerated.

Please consider this your first official warning.
