A point is either correct or incorrect irregardless of the stake. The ability to influence on a DPOS blockchain is directly related to one's stake, perhaps that is what you are getting confused with.

The size of one's stake doesn't make their point any less correct.

How exactly was he undermining "the whole community"? While we are on the subject of backdoor deals and undermining the community, that sounds awfully similar to a select group of witnesses all

Yep, this is correct. The only reason he won't remove his witness votes is because there have been no trustless guarantees that his stake won't be frozen again. @theycallmedan once that guarantee is made

I'd rather not say names, but two of the ones I was referring to were no longer part of the top 20 as of last night.

Dan, giving your word is not enough in this trustless environment. You need to figure out how to guarantee that his stake will not and cannot be frozen again and he will remove his witness votes, it's

He's talking about building a better blockchain from scratch. One that doesn't have the same flaws that steem has. If he is able to do that successfully and pull users from steem to this new blockchain,

You do realize this would make steem worthless if successful right?

Sure, still doesn't mean he has to abide by it.

Is the problem really that there aren't enough blockchains in the world? I would much rather work on making existing blockchains more functional. If what you are building is successful, you will be

A better question would be, why are top witnesses powering down? Full power downs that were just started within the past week or so. While asking others to vote for them no less.

It's a hostage situation in his eyes as well. You guys froze his stake and he believes that if he removes his witnesses you will go right back and do it again. You have framed him as the enemy but it was

Before the latest drama, that value was around $60 million (total market value) with only a couple thousand active users. That doesn't sound like a lot of real world value?

Because if that stake is allowed to vote, they likely don't keep their jobs, simple as that.

Yes, I am saying that every vote for a witness you cast it uses your witness voting power. How many votes you wanna cast depends on how much weight you want to give to each vote. 1 full power vote or any

You can have stake weighted voting of witnesses that use mana, just like votes on content do. Things just like that (and others) have been mentioned on here for a couple years now but none of the top witnesses

Sometimes don't you wish you were wrong? I think many shared your exact same concerns regarding the soft fork, yet it was pushed through anyways, and the worst case scenario played out. It may have been

Many solutions (better than what we currently have) were mentioned by several users on here for years now, yet none of it was taken seriously. As you mentioned mostly because it would have impacted those

Are there not numerous other blockchains that offer exactly that? Though with far less value than steem currently? If steem loses it's value, it's no different than hundreds of others.

Even if that was the plan, it hasn't appeared to be the plan for a long time now. It's also entirely possible (likely?) that the new coin had more value than the previous coin, if nothing else it should
