Just because a previous ownership had intentions of how they would use their assets doesn't mean new ownership must have those same intentions.

And you know this how?

Maybe because if steem loses them it will go a lot lower in price. If you don't care about your investment dollars, keep on with this line of thinking. By the way, there is no licking involved. It's about

It can go a lot lower. Sub penny is in our future if we lose support of major exchanges.

If you are fine losing all your investment dollars here, keep on with this line of thinking, that's where this is going. A loss of major exchanges will eventually lead to a worthless coin.

How can he possibly remove his witnesses without fear of you guys freezing his stake again? Do you not see that is what this is all about? It's not about controlling the steem blockchain, he wants to ensure

Good one. And in the process steem loses several of the few remaining large exchanges it has left. They were just doing what they thought they were supposed to be doing to support a HF. This is evidenced

If the community ACTUALLY disapproved Apparently it is you that doesn't understand how the blockchain works. The COMMUNITY did not elect those 20 Top Witnesses. The votes of a very small minority of whales

Good point. I was extrapolating to our current situation given the timing of this post. For what it's worth, that is not something I am hoping happens or want to see happen. Just what happened somehow

I like the idea of 5 as well. I believe 10 to still be too high.

This seems overly optimistic. I would be shocked if Justin Sun doesn't sue someone from this. The Top Witnesses that colluded to make this happen would probably be his first target. He's worth $500 million,

It has become a good ol boys club with Top Witnesses hasn't it. I think every one of the Top Witnesses that was involved with the Soft Fork should set down indefinitely to show that this was actually about

The precedent set by what they just did is going to be felt throughout the entire crypto industry by all DPOS and POS blockchains. There had to be a better way. What exactly were these witnesses saving

It is a sad day. To me this looks like they were trying to protect their spots as Top Witnesses more than actually trying to do the best thing for steem. In my opinion to prove they actually believe this

I agree with you. It's about the precedent. The fact that this CAN be done pretty much ruins steem, whether it could previously or not is not the point, it's known now that it can and will be done.

Are you concerned at all about the precedent this sets? The Top 20 Witnesses can take away your stake if they choose to. That is something that steem will carry with it forever gong forward. It looks a

Sure, but this looks a lot like stealing. The precedent set from this cannot be undone. If this was truly done to protect steem then the Top 20 Witnesses should all step down indefinitely. It would give

It's not temporary if he doesn't meet these strong armed demands though, correct?

The precedent set by this will never be able to be overcome. Why would anyone invest in something that can be taken away from them by the Top 20 Witnesses?

And what if those guarantees are not made? We take this guy's stake away from him? The damage done to steem from doing this will likely never be undone.
