Geez, I forgot to get to my actual point, LOL. Overlords used their parasitized wealth to support specialist gangs of armed thugs to conquer and control society. Over thousands of years this evolved H. sapiens by eliminating wild and feral individuals, leaving our species highly domesticated. While even barnyard animals dislike close confinement, there is a reason they are barnyard animals and other wild species are not, and that is because they tolerate being farmed, just like most people do.
Decentralization will eventually reverse this trend, because centralization cannot economically compete. Independent means is literally both the best definition of wealth, and of freedom. Folks that most produce themselves the goods and services they and their local communities need will best and soonest benefit from this evolutionary trend. The human brain has shrunk ~25% over the last ~40k years, as intelligence that enabled dissent has been replaced as the most beneficial individual trait with conformance and brutality necessary to overlords controlling society.
Free men make their freedom, as they always have, and always will.
