I hope you can get past the initial shock to grasp the underlying fundamentals that will improve your sovereignty. Just like in your examples, in both cases the shock of the initiating event enabled improving relationships by acknowledging reality, of a worthless partner and an unreliable friend. Canada's longstanding mismanagement has far more negatively impacted Canadians than it has Americans, and no one will benefit more from beating your polity into submission to the civilian population than that population.

American union of states have been proposed by our overlords for more than 5 decades. America has suffered the Malthusian whip more than even Canada, it's polity far worsely managed than Canada's. Do note this isn't Kyle Rittenhouse's plan, nor mine, just as much as it isn't yours or Castreau's.
