I do understand your reticence to abandon Youtool. There's ppl there that won't use Odysee or 3speak for some reason. I really like Odysee, and hardly get censored there - but, that means it's a rough crowd and I run into trolls erry day there. I'd much rather deal with trolls than censorship though.

I hope if you make the move to the bus you really are glad you did. I know nothing about the environment or the circumstances, but if you can manage comms, nominal power, water, and etc., and the site isn't too remote (you'll probably have to spring for wheels if it's off public transport lines, which will be expensive there), I'd think you'd have a better shot at getting through the coming crackdowns (bird flu, climate crises, or etc.) with greater freedom and fewer intrusions. I have lived in a bus (with a wife and two kids, LOL) so know it's cramped and often difficult to manage normal QoL amenities, but adding a shed can help with space, and being handy makes amenities possible almost anywhere.

Being able to garden, if the soil and environment permit, would really improve your quality of nutrition (if you're any good at it) and improve your food security. I have a very small space to garden in, but I've managed to make a raised bed about 4x12 and shoehorn pots into every nook and cranny, hang them from fences, and an arbor over the raised bed, so I've tripled the production dirt I am working this year. I also have been working other folks gardens that have some physical challenges that keep them from doing it themselves, and that allows some access to more and dispersed sources of food. I feel much more food secure this year than I have in prior years, and I'm eating better, so hopefully I'll tag an elk or a deer this fall and have more than I can eat in a year. Learning to can the last couple years has extended my ability to store foods, and I hope to vary the stuff I can beyond blackberries and tuna to salal, raspberries, and hopefully some stews or meat based meals after hunting season. I recently priced out pressure cookers, and almost went into shock at the prices, which started at ~$400US and went up to an astounding $1400 for a 41 quart sterilizer. I'll be hunting one in thrift stores and garage sales, I guess.

One of the people I have been tending garden for has a big chest freezer (too big for my postage stamp yard) they have offered me, and I have a place to put it at someone elses place I tend, but it's got a leaky seal, which causes inefficiency and ice to build up, so I'm hoping to figure out a way to replace the seal so I can use it efficiently. However, I've got a surgery coming up that may keep me from doing much at all for a month or more, and my kitchen is presently being remodeled and is a disaster, so I'm rushing to get that done before the surgery puts me off my feet and I get stuck with a mess for months.

It never ends.
