BTC is utterly, completely at the mercy of miners. The cost of transacting in BTC has in the past risen to ~25% of the transaction, set by miners that refrained from posting transactions to the blockchain that didn't pay such fees.
I'm not interested in currency that can be held hostage. More than once I have been defrauded of funds in the legacy financial system, and I am not going to switch to any other currency that enables such simple means of taking my money from me. Frankly, since all cryptos are currently subject to nothing more difficult to undertake than censorship, which the owners of the internet practice with facility and regularity, I have no confidence in any cryptocurrency.
What faith and confidence should you have in money that can just be turned off at any moment, without legislation, regulation, or recourse?
None, and that's what confidence I have in any ability to transmit data over the internet. I don't own the pipes it flows through, and I have no confidence whatsoever in the people that do, for demonstrable reasons.
You do you, but I have stated facts you alone can reckon risking your fortune and freedom of speech to. A few $B's are all that would be necessary to establish an at will radio frequency network that would create security from censorship, and the fact there is no coin or currency that has that utility is telling. What it tells us is that all extant cryptocurrencies are allowed because they can be switched on and off with facility by the legacy financial system, and no currency that has actual security has been allowed to arise.
This is why I do not invest in any currencies, use banks, or have any confidence in exchanges that require KYC or banks to get in or out of crypto. I can defend PMs, trade goods, real property, and my neighbors, but I cannot defend the internet, cryptocurrency, or bank accounts.
Guess where I invest my fortune?
Thanks!
