"It's over", Martha whispered softly to herself over and over again. It was over a long time ago anyways and it was just waiting for this action to be taken, the very best thing to do. She had been so vulnerable for too long and Jude had taken serious advantage of her weakness for him and had downthrod her emotions, crushing them without hesitations nor feelings.
He was a chronic womanizer and Martha had found herself entangled in his web of lies and deceit. She nodded her head as those words washed over her with the solace she desperately needed.
Many times he would be on his knees begging whenever he's found out but as soon as she accepts him back..... There goes another cycle until she eventually confronted him with the reality - It was not going to work this way and though she still loved him, she had to face the painful reality of his transient affections.
She was deeply hurt by his philandering that she sought for ways to escape his fickle love, and to go through a major transformation in her life, without him.
And as she walked away from yet his pleadings and promises, she felt a huge sense of relief flood her entire being. She whispered to herself,
"I've grown a wing with which to fly, to my heart's content". And with that her strides became purposeful, widening the gap between her and Jude forever.
Thank you for the challenge.
