There are many favorites, from Captain Blood with Errol Flynn to Anime including One Piece and the Captain Harlock series. Pirate films are high on adventure, which is a big part of their appeal.

Although I don't always participate in movie star f the week, I'm going to miss that feature. As for roll your own contest, I think I would be rolling a lot of either Westerns or Science Fiction.

I tend to ignore comments from readers on news sites for a variety of reasons. As for which news sties, I just check a couple of them for a few interesting bits, preferably tech and science, or stock market

Total Recall (1990) was loosely based on a Philip K. Dick story, and a darn good film. It's been awhile since I last saw it. Another film to add, also based on a Philip K. Dick novel is Blade Runner (1982)
