RE: Untangling the Gordian Knot that is Steem Ethics
Put options, shorting a stock, or short selling is betting that a stock will tank. It's a risky endeavor but their are gains to be made with that particular tactic.

Let's take a look at bid bots for example. A lot of times people with heavy votes do not focus on curation. This non-curation by many causes a market condition where advertising is required to be seen.

I'm not too keen on the behavior manipulation either. Not biting on that one.

You basically read my mind. There is a thing called put options, but I don't think it belongs married up with social media. It's unnatural.

Thanks for your feedback @torico, it's always good to get your take! Any ideas on how steem might appeal to socialist investors? It should be interesting to see how it all pans out in the long run. I think

I read you loud and clear, and many times capitalism does go to the extreme where it becomes harmful and socialism too. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if they're not polar ends of the same system. Like

That's interesting. I can't help but wonder if it's possible to drum self-interest out of human behavior, or if it's a realistic goal. We can try to create voluntary systems filled with complex rules,

"does investing a huge amount of money give them the right to make this gain? thats the question." I agree and second the above question. I also can't help but wonder if a hard fork ever does

RE: Muzzled in SteemChat on Discord.
I'm inclined to live and let live myself with respect to being one who does not downvote. What I can not reconcile about people who do otherwise is that we naturally accept the fact that the more steem

I like the idea of a downvote that isn't associated with value. In that case, it's a good way to express disagreement without doing something which can be perceived as causing harm. But the action by itself

Well, perhaps I was on that day. I should note I was not "kicked", but was suddenly prevented from being able to type in the middle of a back and forth. At the time it happened there really wasn't

Will it get me all the replies or only in accordance with my following? I'm trying to have as pure a poll as I can. With neutral language and broad audience, etc.. etc...

I wish I could get a poll on Steemit, but I might be able to fund one on PAL. Thank you very much for your feedback @moderndayhippie!

RE: Will Hardfork 21 Operant Conditioning Prepare You to Accept Social Credit?
What it would do is create an illusion of ownership which only works on the condenser who implements it. I say illusion because these comments could be viewed on any other condenser.

I think they should just make a platform, and they probably already have, where the content creator can moderate comments on their posts without involving market forces. This way they kind of have ownership

RE: Will Hardfork 21 Operant Conditioning Prepare You to Accept Social Credit?
I think that language is a smooth way to sell downvotes. However, at the same time when someone initiates a market force against a post because they don't like what is said in it, it's hard to not see

Thanks @shepz1! You know, I had that very same thought and assumed that some entity or group might be profiting from that, but I've been told it goes back to the reward pool. I'm not learned enough to
