I thought I answered this already, but it could have been elsewhere.
Anyway, contrary to the others, and knowing the stages of Mische technique, I find the first one to be unfinished. It has the white highlights, but lacks the glazing that comes thereafter.
If Nr. 2 was the previous stage, then I think you should have left well enough alone and , if at all, just worked perhaps on a few details and contrasts.
But how it was in 2018 was fine too.
But now that you went this far, you have to continue. Glazing and local colors.
Before you got to that point, I would have said: just leave it alone, and start a new one.
What strikes me as strange is that you said you wanted to make it 'more realistic': this imho is counterproductive to what your art stands for and represents. A outer-wordily, magical place.
