"Comb jellies are not sea jellies. They belong to a group of animals called ctenophores. They don't have stinging cells and their reproductive cycle is simpler than sea jellies. An individual has both eggs and sperm and typically casts them into the water where fertilization takes place. The "comb" in their name comes from eight vertical rows of tiny, hair-like structures that resemble the teeth of a comb. When they move, they create a shimmering rainbow of colors."
