I start my onions from seed in late January to give them time to start bulbing. They are ready to plant out in April and do very well in full sun. Some years are better than others. I'm hoping for larger ones this year. I have tons of cabbage moths, that's why I finally ordered the insect netting to keep them off. It works wonderfully.
