RE: Gardens and Around the Yard - August 20, 2026 @goldenoakfarm
The garden looks great even if you have lost a few plants. At least you are keeping up with the harvesting even when you're not feeling top-notch.

RE: Green Beans, Tomatoes, and an Appointment - August 19, 2026 @goldenoakfarm
Nice bean harvest. I hope you don't have to have cataracts done someday; I'm hoping not, also. They told me I had a baby cataract starting. Dang it!

RE: It’s Dills This Time - August 17 & 18, 2026 @goldenoakfarm
So sad about your bowl and your back going out. I had that set for years, and they were my mom's too. I don't know what ever happened to them, hmmm. No more pickles for me this season, I'm pulling all

I love the hydrangea, but you have so many other shrubs to enjoy. I don't have many at all.

I'm so sorry you had to endure another surgery, Jay. I sure hope it is the last one for you. Lovely shots as always, and the sunrise photos are always my favs. Be well.

RE: Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2026
Wow, that is quite a large event. The balloons are so colorful. I don't think I would enjoy being in such a large crowd, though. Going up in a hot air balloon was one of my most exciting experiences.

RE: So Many Colorful Blossoms this Summer - by Sunscape
I definitely will keep the tubers. I have some shavings I can put them in and keep them in a cool place. I know I will end up looking for more Dahlias this winter. ♥

Aw, thank you! I hadn't grown Dahlias in decades and finally thought to get a couple. I may have to find a few more since that one was absolutely stunning.

Hahaha, too many squashes sounds familiar. lol. I did not know that grasshoppers shed their skin; see, I learned something new today. I picked my first cantaloupe yesterday, and it smells so nice. Have

Thanks, Pam. I swear they love eating the zinnia seeds. I have to get some before they are all gone, lol.

I bet you are! It won't be long now, and I will have to cut most of them back for the fall. :-(

Thank you so much for the nice comment. I have heard of sunchokes but have never seen one in person. I hope you get a nice tuber harvest.

RE: Just to the Dump and Mowing - August 15, 2026 @goldenoakfarm
Nice to see the grass sprout so quickly. Funny, I mowed my backyard yesterday, but hubby did the sides and front of the house. The cut grass smelled like a drying hayfield after I cut it. Reminded me of
