RE: Blossoms Bursting Everywhere - I love Flowers - by Sunscape
I believe it, it takes a lot of energy to care for so many perennials all season long. I used to have an iris that smelled like bubblegum, and all the kids got a kick out of it.

Sometimes it smells while fermenting, I think it depends on how much fish sauce is added. I don't do too much for mine. There are so many recipes online that are very good. My youngest son is married to

RE: I Planted Flowers for a Change - May 31, 2026@goldenoakfarm
The garden looks so tidy with all the weeds out. Nice to see you can start planting the flowers now that the weather is playing nice. My Walla Walla onions look so unhappy this year, and I did feed them.

I got some work done in the garden since it was a cool, sunny day. Had to harvest all the spinach as it started bolting and going to seed. I finally see that some beats have sprouted; it only took three

I'm going to have to look up what bindweed is. I wouldn't know what to look for. Yikes! I hope you can get it under control, as it sounds nasty. Okay, I looked it up, and I can see why you can't get rid

That would be fun, but driving is not my favorite thing anymore. I get car sick if I'm in one too long. I only make a 10-mile round trip doing errands, and I'm done. lol I always wanted to go to Vermont,

RE: A Cold Rainy Day - May 30, 2026@goldenoakfarm
I hadn't churned cream into butter since I was 10 years old. I remember how much fun it was. My grandmother had a large wooden churn that stood on the floor. I always got to help her with it. I looked

You are so right, Iris doesn't like the rhizomes covered. I lost all mine to the borers years back and never replaced them. I only have the dwarf ones now, and a few Louisiana Iris.

Nice to see you got so many things planted. I'm so jealous you have garlic. Almost all of mine rotted over the winter, for the first time ever. Your peony is gorgeous, too.

I like the little wire cages to keep the critters off. I use crushed eggshells around mine when I plant them. It seems to keep the slugs off. I just used the Agricultural Vinegar all around my gardens

Wow, that is good to know, thanks for the heads up. I will prune the lilac after the flowers fall off. It has gotten so large, I think a trim back would be beneficial. Yes, there are different varieties

The chiro was just what I needed; the back feels better now. The yard does smell amazing, and now all the peonies are opening. It sure is beautiful right now.

All your seedlings look so healthy and happy, potted up. Nice to have a little helper on hand, she's a cutie. Happy gardening.

RE: And They Are Done! - May 27, 2026@goldenoakfarm
Wow, that sister rose came back great. That is one thing I do miss: having roses. You got a lot accomplished in one day. Just transferring clothes for the seasons is enough after doing lights. Dang...
