Once children enter school, the germs come home to be shared. sigh! I do clean up a lot of debris from the gardens but have many places where I layer the mulched leaves for the insects. I too, think about

Thank you, Pam We got the first significant frost this a.m. It got down to 30°. Looks like rain again for another 4 days in a row. Do you think I can leave the beets in or should I just harvest the greens?

The bay and lake are less than a mile from me. I literally am off the main road that goes along the bay. We always have a temperate climate because of the lake effect. It sure makes my growing season longer
