It is still very cold here in NY too but I keep the seeds under lights in my basement for a month before going out into the greenhouse in March. I always have to start the onions early and the eggplant.

That is the weather we have been having, up and down, snow, melting with the sun, and then more snow. It sure is pretty but I have been keeping the drapes closed a lot to keep the house a bit more snug.

Yes, the snow changes everything and the birds do stay cozy in the evergreens and shrubs. I feed them well so they have good energy to stay warm too.
