I have a love-hate relationship with this beautiful town, a stunning place but also really pricey to live there. It turned out to be the place where I spent most of my time in New Zealand. Anyways, like one of my friends said, it's a great place for a holiday, but unless you want to burn a hole in your pocket, don't stay here.

Standing at over 800 m above sea level, you can totally go on a day-hike in Chua chan, however, we always prefer to camp overnight to enjoy nature to the fullest. Besides, I had a birthday to celebrate LOL.

Wandering around the woods, listening to the sounds of my feet rustling on the russet forest ground, and taking a deep breath, it felt like I was in a movie set in the Twilight saga series. Sometimes, it sounded a bit spooky when no one was around though.

I asked myself what kind of dish that I can add lots of vegetables in it and it is also tasty, then hotpot immediately pops up, it is a well-balanced meal between proteins and fiber, you can practically add any source of proteins (meat, fish, mushroom, tofu) and many kinds of vegetables.

We continued to follow the ridgeline towards mt Alpha, the low clouds and heavy fog made for poor visibility, so we had to watch our step and stick to the track. The good thing is the whole trail is well-marked, so one less thing to worry about.

Season Hunt challenge week 2 - A different view of Autumn
It was supposed to be a job-hunting trip, but it turned out to be a chance for me to observe the beauty of the season across the country, from Te puke in the North to Blenheim in the South, somewhere along the way and finally ended up in Queenstown.
