Thanks @leidimarc I love the contrast the black stripes add, it makes it much more stained glass style patchwork - but I take no credit, it was all Mondrian.

Having a space to create is also vital for my creative process. I've seen a few videos recently of people sandwiching fabric scraps between lace/netting and then stitching long lengths to hold the scraps
