A few months ago, my friend María Mercedes and I agreed to meet, we live in different cities and it had been about a year since the last time we met. We have been friends since college, and although we don't see each other that often, over the years we have always kept in touch.
The idea was to go for a bite to eat, have a coffee and of course chat, and I thought of an old place that I'm sure she would like. It is the Heladería La Emisora (Ice Cream Parlor The Station), an icon of the city of La Victoria (Venezuela) founded by an Italian emigrant who began to operate in the early 1960s in the historic center.
The most interesting thing about this place is that when you enter you are transported to the past, the owners have decided to keep intact many things from other times, such as furniture, advertisements and a few eye-catching objects: bottles, bills and coins, old menus, photos, among others, it is like a museum.
We arrived around noon and I told my friend that she had to try the ice cream, as it was hot she thought it was a good idea, so we ordered two flavors, passion fruit and coconut. These ice creams are very tasty, they are part of the history of the place, they make them themselves with Italian recipes.
They also offer pizzas, sandwiches, pastries filled with meat, chicken or cheese, milkshakes, soft drinks, desserts, among other things, and of course an excellent coffee, which we tasted a while later.
Before leaving, we took a look at some of the things displayed on the walls and counters, my friend loved the place, and I have to go back to do a more complete review.
By the way, the ice cream parlor is called La Emisora (The Station) because on the second floor there used to be a radio station for several years.
