RE: 8th update of 2021 on BlockTrades work on Hive software
The convergent linear curve affects total post value so that's both author and curation. This is separate from the curation change, at least for the most part (there may be some interaction, not sure).

I'm concerned that removing the curve is going to invite back the high-volume low-value spam comments we've had in the past but mostly gave up since it became impossible to earn a reward with most low-HP

RE: Converting HBD to Hive
Burn would make sense if the DHF were significantly overfunded. That may happen at some point but not many stakeholders believe that right now.

RE: How to make HBD great again?
These are good reasons but we should consider if they apply to HP as well. For example, would making the earnings liquid increase the appeal significantly ? If so, maybe we should do it.

But that doesn't work if everyone actually knows the coin is just going down again. In most crypto pumps that have ever happened, most people realize it is going back down again. They don't think that

RE: Discussion on the development of HBD today [02 April 2021]
Convert always pays out $1 worth of HIVE (or less if the haircut comes into play, which isn't an issue right now). Do not use the convert function when HBD is trading for more than $1. Trade your HBD instead.

a reason for Hive holders to keep their Hive off of exchanges and a way to earn some staking rewards while providing a useful service to the network We already have that. You earn about 3%/y staking as

"Fee" is a little misleading. It's essentially setting a pricing band where network/stakeholders benefit from the natural market making effect of selling at the high end and buying the the low

RE: Wanna help test RC delegations ? Here's all you need to know
There is a hard cap (in effect) on active users! Now "hard" is relative. It could be changed, and likely would be changed if adoption exploded and HIVE/HP price increased accordingly. But the

Assuming HBD is above $1, this would work. However, since it isn't always, and you need to know the actual price of HBD at the time to decide whether to trade it for HIVE or just send it back. There isn't

This could be true, but I'm a little bit skeptical for this reason. Once the higher payouts start, many Hive/Steem users are going to cash out their earnings (which they're very good at doing!) and someone

HIVE savings wallet earning a portion of inflationary staking rewards seems plausible to me. It would have to be a lot less given that it is staking for only 3 days vs 13 weeks (or 7 if you average), but

I understand the concern, but having more users or more interactions should be a greater benefit for the chain Of course that is true. I imagine you will get more usage (perhaps a lot more), and at lower

At $1, yes it is a riskless bet in some sense. As things stand now, HBD should usually trade at just above $1. That makes buying it not quite riskless. I'm not saying that's what happens, but that's the

The exchanges earn the interest if the HBD is held on an exchange. In theory they can pay it to the users (or only do so if users put it into a staking pool or such) as they do for other coins, but no

I think that interest being offered would certainly drive demand upwards a bit would it not? Yes, a little. It's just that buying at $3 risks $2. If you hold a whole year (with no price change), you earn

That's what @blocktrades did (and some other stakeholders may have adjusted votes by now as well, I'm not sure). He said he was going to make another post more directly about that aspect of it soon.

I’ve never understood people who want a high HBD (or SBD) price They own HBD or have a method by which they are earning HBD and want it to be worth more. Simple as that.

Which to be clear is a good thing as long as we have a mechanism to channel that demand into demand for HIVE
