This is $100 not $10. Steemium reports $34 used to buy votes. That's way more than needed to get a reasonable visibility jump start, and probably doesn't count all the bought votes.

It is being worked on. Using the steemit API one can see that right now there is 1493.023 SBD conversion in progress which comes to about 426 per day. Over 7000 SBD total has been converted since the start.
