They are native in most areas of the US, but we kick start them each year by buying 100 cocoons for each of the nesting blocks. When we get better at harvesting cocoons and storing them over the winter

Thank you. And it is such a privilege to get a resteem.

Great question, I was wondering the same thing.

Back in the day I always tried to separate off and space the seeds individually so I did not need to thin them out later. This makes that process so much easier.

That is crazy how big they get. I assume there would be no issue canning them? Do you have those seeds available for purchase?

We have several types of bees that are hive-less. The mason bee is large in size but is also used for pollination in gardens, particularly for fruit trees.

I have been finding lots of Missouri homestead YouTube channels lately. There seems to be a lot of us. Our tomato plants grown with the Mittleider method are now over 7 feet tall and are grown just 9 inches

Leaf cutter bees are very docile. If I stand too close to their house they will not come out of the holes.

Thank you. It has certainly helped to get more exposure.

Eating something that you've grown is always rewarding. They look terrific.

Those are quite interesting, do they turn green when cooked? I grew a purple variety last year, I forget the name, and they turned the typical green color when we steamed them.

Thank you. It is quite relaxing for me to be out there in the greenhouse. Fortunately with the 95 ton rock heat sink under it we will also be able to spend time out there this winter. We should be able

Wow! Thank you for the recognition. The amount of exposure we have received as a result is amazing. Thanks so much.

Good morning. That little wood hut is a block for the leaf cutter bees we use as pollinators in the greenhouse. They're a tiny bee, their length is about the same as the width of a pencil eraser. Because

You're quite welcome. The Mittleider method is also known as the poor mans hydroponics system. Just as hydroponics provides all the nutrients to the plants they grow, we do the same thing in our soil.

Yes, that is us.

Thanks for the shout out, we are excited to see what our heat sink greenhouse will do this winter.

I have looked into it. We are far enough north that it would be very cost prohibitive.

Thanks for the introduction to Steemit.
