Jesus Christ, man, right out of the gate you guys brought the thunder. I hadn't even thought about eliminating neutrals for multi-splinter summoners. I think that's a great idea! I think MSSs are gonna be awesome, but @mattclarke does have a solid point about the number of options one will have with two full splinters to choose from. Eliminating neutrals seems like a perfect counter to balance that out.
Matt also hit on the first thing that crossed my mind, which is some summoners shouldn't be allowed to work together. I like the idea of the lore evolving from segregation to inclusion ( 🤣 ), but I kind of feel like gameplay could actually lose something if fire and water, or life and death could just roll into battle together, although I guess there could be penalties for mixing them, for the sake of adding a new dynamic to gameplay, but I don't think it would be enjoyable, just off the top of my head. Then again, it wouldn't really be any different than avoiding the use of swiftness or slow in reverse speed rules, so maybe it would bring an element of fun along.
Regarding bringing monsters from banished splinters into battle, @bobaphet has a good point, that dragons can't do it, but that doesn't mean it can't be tweaked for MSSs, or that it can't be revisited and revised for dragons. Fuck, man. I'm not even 10 minutes in yet. It's gonna take me all night to get through this.
Splinterlands 101: Episode 61.1: Dreams and Rubble
Come join us as @giotrix crumbles two castles with a dick on the table the bards will sing of through the ages, but is it the dick
@bobaphet has been looking for? !LOL for inside jokes!
Quick inquiry... It does always pick gold foil over regular if the same level, but is that level determined by the top or bottom? If I have a level 4 gold foil with zero cards toward the next level, and a level 4 regular foil that's halfway to the next level does it still consider the gold foil to be equal level?
I lol'd about Fungus Flinger and his only job being to die. I was in a match wherein he was the last to fall. It cracked me up, and almost made me feel a little bad for the other guy, but then I just laughed harder. I really like the dynamic the Martyr ability brings. When Furious Chicken first dropped it was an instant meat shield, and still is to this day. I wonder if all monsters with Martyr will always just be there to die for the glory of the cool kids.
Another quick side track that just came to mind. I don't think I see the soul bound chain on cards in battle. I think I'd like that, so later down the line soul bound cards that have been broken free will have a different appearance. It isn't a big deal, but I think little status symbols like that go a long way toward fleshing out the environment and atmosphere. It's a cool thing to notice in battle and woo over for a second.
@bobaphet There are a lot of uses for Ever-hungry skull.
@giotrix nailed them. He's a prick in sneak and Up Close and Personal rules, plus equalizer, as well as Opportunity rules without magic. It tends to cause me a lot of grief as a decoy in melee heavy rules. In fact, you guys ended up covering it petty well. I jumped the gun on this one. This show has me too excitable!
I don't like bloodlust being dispelled! That's not a buff, it's an inherent ability like shield or twin strike. If I have to die on this hill, I'm taking you with me, @giotrix !!
Regarding Jared Scar, I completely agree with Matt. It's a lousy tank. He's really not even that good on melee mayhem because the tank in those is usually so well defended. Even 7 damage isn't as sweet as it seems against a shield monster backed by a tank healer. I find it most successfully used against me in opportunity and sneak rulesets. I also find it works best for me in those circumstances when I remember to play it.
I thought I was almost over my continuing rant about Possibilus but you guys started it, so...
Frozen Soldier, Naga Warrior, Deep Lurker in particular are all rekindled stars in my sky ever since Possibilus came along. Maybe not Deep Lurker, since it was still burning pretty bright on it's own, but the others for sure. It does wonders for Kraken, too, if you put it in the second position and surround it with return fire and reflect, but that's a pricey combo. I got lucky and pulled enough gold foil Coastal Sentry copies to get up to level 4, so I don't really use her yet, but that match against @evanstinger solidifies that she's one of the ones I need to keep an eye on.
Hey @bobaphet, does The People's Guild know of or use 3speak? I'm not sure where it is, now, but they're shooting for a censorship resistance platform.
FUCKING CONGRATULATIONS!! @giotrix
That match was a fucking rim clencher! All those misses! I WAS AS MAD AS I'VE EVER BEEN!!! Good show! And for @mattclarke, a preview of things to come.
And that my friends seems like a great way to wrap this up. Thanks for letting me hang out! See you next time!
