High Wizard, spells, magic, AOE, Ice, Fire and Lightning a different kind of flare in the MMORPG World of Ragnarok Online. What has changed since the earlier iteration of Ragnarok Online versus the 3D attempt on Ragnarok X: Next Generation? Well, a 3D version of your favorite Storm Gust + Lord of Vermillion wombo combo! No surprise there.
When you start the game you will be given equipment and quests. The main quest easily takes you to around level 30ish and once you are job level 50 you can job change into a Wizard and, 50 job levels further, a High Wizard. That part should cover the first initial part of the leveling guide.
As a Mage, there are 2 stats that stand out from the start, up until the end game and that is Magic Damage (Magic Attack) and Haste. The base stats required for both of these are Intelligence for Magic Damage and Dexterity for the Haste. To start your journey as a mage, you would like to pump your Intelligence as a priority. Dex is there to fill the gap to increase it somewhat to attain instacast on your spells.
When you start out, attaining instacast is going to be difficult simply because of the lack of stats and equipment. When you are first handed a weapon you are going to have to choose the 2 Hand Staff. The 2 Hand staff provides you with a large Haste stat to start which the Rod and Shield option lacks. You can carry this up to level 40 and change into the Rod and Shield option at this time.
Guild Orders - You will be provided Guild Contributions which you would need to add additional stats like Magic Attack. This would also be used as currency to improve your shadow equipment. In the long run, this is really helpful as it gives you a faster rate in killing monsters.
Shadow Equipment - You will need to start your shadow equipment as soon as it is available. There are 15 quests you would need to accomplish in order for you to unlock your shadow equipment. It is advisable to equip and choose your 1 Hand, Rod and Shield, as this yields more damage in the end game.
KVM participation - This is a 5v5 pvp against other guilds. Another source of guild contributions and shadow equipment quest requirement.
GVG Participation - Guild v Guild capture the castle type of PVP. Another shadow equipment quest requirement.
Leveling a mage starts out slow simply because you do not have enough Area Spells to start. Good thing we have the main quests to deal with which takes us up to level 30 ish real fast. Once you have reached level 35, you should be able to hit Job level 50 as a mage and get changed to Wizard. Once you have turned into a WIZ, you can slowly alternate pumping your Storm Gust and Lord of Vermillion. Take note that you do not have to max them out right away, the goal is instacast and faster cool downs. The faster you cast and the more you cast them, the more monsters you will be killing.
The Chores you need to do daily are the following:
The last important thing you would need to think about would be the type of monsters you will be going after. Note that, though you could not really expend your skills that much early on, changing job is what is matters most. Getting to Wizard hastens your ability to kill all. So prioritizing monsters that would yield a higher amount of Job XP is the better choice. And make sure to hunt monsters within 3 levels above you to ensure full points on your experience gains.

Set Bonus - 3pc Level 40 set bonus is the best until you reach level 80. You can get these from the Clothes Back and Shoes. For the rest of the levels, that is up to you. But once you reach level 80, the Bat set item is the beast, they said. LOL. I'll update you by the end of the year once I am level 80. ROFL.
Another thrill of the game is the upgrades and the refine. Why? Because your items have a chance to BREAK! HAHAHAHA!
But yes they are a very important component to the game because this is simply your damage source. But you do not have to worry about changing your equipment as you can transfer the stats easily from one item to another as long as they are the same rarity.
(Example. Transfer Stats (Upgrade, Refine, Enchant) from LVL40 White Clothes to LVL80 White Clothes but you cannot transfer from LVL40 Blue Clothes to LVL25 White Clothes and vice versa)
Unlike the year 2000 iteration of the RO game, this time, you can take your cards out of your equipment for a small fee so you can use and reuse your cards.
Tip for the Upgrading:
• Primary Priority to upgrades will be your weapon. Take your weapon to level 100 as soon as possible. Upgrade this more than the rest. You need this for shadow equipment and Upgrade Awakening III which we will talk about at another time.
• Refine - Refine your weapon to level 2. If you are in need of money, you can forego the upgrade to level 4 for now and sell. This is not a priority simply because this is very very expensive because of the high chance of failing. If you are rich go for it as this gives you a large overall bonus stat once successful. (I have wasted so much money here already FML)
• Enchantment - There are 3 to choose from, Basic Stats (Prontera), Advance Stats like M.DMG, Haste (Morroc) and Elemental Bonus (Izlude). I'd prefer the Morroc and the Izlude ones but since I'm a F2P player, this is not really a priority as this wastes so much resources and the yield is random - It is not worth it early on. Once you have reached Upgrade 100 and your expenses somehow eases up, then why not.
I am not even sure why I am discussing all of these with you but that is really up to you if you want this humble guide or not. But should you wish to pursue what I am attempting to pursue then this might just be a small one-stop guide for you. You can take the same approach here as with other classes, just that the stats are a bit different, everything else should be roundabout accurate.
