Ci ritorneremo a breve.
Come sempre vi aspetto su www.serialfiller.org.
Grazie dell'attenzione!

This is the future link to the post that I am inviting you to read in the coming days on www.serialfiller.org and which is in preview here
As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to constantly give you, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.
What is the most watched series on Netflix?
Who said that stories about serial killers are no longer exciting?
What is the line between sympathy and compassion?
That Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, would be one of the most watched and talked about TV series of the year was more than expected. It was so because of the story being told, the names involved behind the camera, and the main character who was called upon to portray the monster.
Going in order, the series recounts the genesis of the so-called Milwaukee monster, one of the most heinous serial killers of the 1900s, who killed at least 17 people between 1978 and 1991. Notoriety came, above all, because of the fact that Dahmer, in addition to killing the poor victims, dismembered their bodies, subjecting them to experiments that made the corpses a kind of zombie. But it does not end (unfortunately) there. Dahmer used to eat the remains of the bodies, the vital organs such as the heart, also becoming known as a cannibal serial killer.
Behind the scenes, the name is a big one.
It is Ryan Murphy (American Crime Story, Pose, Ratched), who puts his signature on a project about which we were all curious to discover the style and structure.
Evan Peters, on the other hand, plays the monster. The actor from Wandavision (review here) and Mare of Easttown (review here) was called to a difficult test.
Will he have passed it?
I want to start right here, from the performance of Peters who manages to transfer, quite disturbingly, all the inner emptiness of a character who, however multifaceted, remains an unscrupulous killer who compulsively lured young victims, making them living experiments. Dahmer, before anything else, it should be remembered, was a murderer, a man who brutally drugged, killed, vivisected and ate his victims. A monster without appeal, for whom no compassion should be felt, and for whom it is not possible, in any way, to take sides.
A foregone reflection of mine?
You have not read about the controversy that has arisen around the series because of its alleged excess of compassion toward the serial killer.
We will return to that shortly.
Returning to Peters, I think his performance was perfect precisely because it returned the image of a boy, who never became a man, who has always been disturbed and who has always had enormous difficulty in finding his place in the world and interfacing with his peers.
That this, then, led him to be what he was is important for behavioral science and educational purposes but does not change the nature of his actions.
His being always and perpetually compassed, his transferring to us that underlying anger that was basically not anger but something much more twisted, seeing him yell at his grandmother, seeing him come close to arrest many times, seeing him always be reluctant to control that drive of his was beautifully rendered by the excellent Evan Peters, so bravo to him.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at www.serialfiller.org.
