I have this one up as the movie I plan to watch next. Haven't read your post yet as I want to avoid any kind of spoiler but it's good to know the 'twisty' isn't that good to lower my expectation a bit.

Same here, loved Poor things and his previous work, but Kinds of kindness was just a bit too long and weird. With Bugonia he seems to be going a bit more mainstream but it still remains a Lanthimos movie.
