I was reading news online when I got this news of a Bangladeshi man who suffers from a rare medical condition called ' epidermodysplasia verruciformis' which in lay man's words can be called as 'tree man syndrome'. The patient is suffering from acute pain and is having unnecessary branch and bark like growth erupting out of his hands making it impossible for him to lead a normal life.
The thought itself is very scary and I wonder how this man, a father of one, is dealing with it. I am amazed at god's creation, I mean what was he thinking while making this condition to trouble mankind. According to sources there are less than half a dozen of people suffering from this troublesome condition and the census includes another Bangladeshi who was treated and had a relapse in 2017.
This tree man had around 25 operations initially to remove the disease from his system and was hopeful that he could lead a normal life with his family, but he eventually lost all hope when the growths reappeared and the pain became unbearable. The man has requested doctor's to ampute his hands to relieve him off the pain.
Doctors are yet to make a decision on his request. But my heart aches for patients like him.
