Babies are special for their mothers. Afterall, they are the ones who make a girl a mother ain't it ? No matter how much I pretend to hate my kids, I love them deeply, probably more than anyone else in this world. But, when you are a mom with a new baby for the first time then things are crazy.
I was just turning 20 when I had my cutie pie. My parents were with me, but my mom had not seen a kid after me and my brother had grown up, so it was as new for her as it was for me. For a little background, my mother is a very sleepy person, who lives her sleep to the core, while I am her opposite. I hardly get sleep and can get up at the slightest of sound.
Coming back to the topic. The initial days with the baby were terrible. My son was born at 7:30 pm and he was crazy. I believe he was a little jet lagged and that made him sleep during the day and wake up as the sun sets. He would not blink an eye after the lights were off at home and would keep staring at me. He was more like a watchman whose only job was to ensure that I didn't close my eyes. He would cry at the top of his voice whenever I closed my eyes. Within a week I was sleep deprived. So my mom came up with this amazing plan in which she would take care of him during the day when I could get some sleep and night was however my job.
So, it started. After a tiring night shift with my son, my mom took him from me at 8 am and told me to get some sleep. 8:15 am I could hear him scream, but ignored because I desperately wanted sleep. At 8:20 am my mom came to ask me to feed him. This continued every 20 minutes where he would cry and she would wake me up. I was young, angry and sleep deprived, the combination made me scold my mom saying she should help a little atleast. That hurt her. Somehow we pulled through it and it took me 7 years to plan another baby. I believed this would be better, but my second was no better.
