For today's walk, I stopped by the local cemetery again to visit another historical area of the graveyard. As with most Wednesdays of late, I always plan some fun hike, away from work, with views of bluffs, coulees, rivers, and barns. Alas, no luck of late with work. Meetings seem to be becoming a mainstay at work (and time suck). So, I thought I'd stop by the cemetery again to take in some history and wonderfully beautiful marker art once I snuck out of work at 5 pm.

With the warm weather, the snow is beginning to melt. That means morning walks are treacherous with black ice on the sidewalks...but it also means plenty of melt water to avoid during the day.
Despite the water and wet snow, I did find some interesting names to research over the new few weeks. This individual looked interesting:

That is quite the memorial.
The Griffin marker looked lonely and alienated, to be honest. Another name to research in the future.
I think what I'll do once the snow finally disappears is start taking some chalk paper and black chalk to the area and begin making etchings. That might become a new hobby for me. I've read that it's a useful technique to use when once comes across weathered and worn-down headstones.
Perhaps some of that artwork will become more visible to appreciate.
All in all, it was a good Wednesday walk for a nice afternoon. I'm glad I was able to make it work; I am also glad that I was able to share it again with my Hive friends. Thanks for stopping by!
