Sitting in the park late in the afternoon with my family—enjoying slightly spicy snacks and refreshing cold drinks—that is the atmosphere we are experiencing today. My family—especially my husband and child—and I went for an afternoon stroll to enjoy the scenery. We arrived in the city of Batu and spotted a beautiful park, where I saw many people sitting and enjoying their favorite snacks.

And it seemed we were interested in relaxing here, so I invited my husband and son to stop for a moment while I bought some snacks. I also saw several street vendors selling various snacks, and I wasn't particularly hungry. So I just bought one snack, the one I liked the most. Especially the batagor (fried meatballs) here, which people say are very tasty and delicious.

Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to buy a serving of batagor. My husband, on the other hand, didn't buy any food because he said he was still very full.

I chose to buy some batagor—specifically a slightly spicy version—and added soy sauce and chili sauce. I also frequently buy a refreshing drink here before heading over to sit in the park. I simply sit on the grass, but the area is kept very clean, as there are many maintenance workers who look after the park.

My child and I were sitting relaxing in the park while opening our snack packages. Okay, I immediately enjoyed the batagor which is said to be delicious in this place, especially at the street vendors there.

This batagor that I bought seems to be very spicy because there is a lot of sauce and chili. For this amount I bought it for Rp. 5,000. I think it is quite cheap, right?

And now, let's enjoy this batagor while relaxing in the afternoon, accompanied by the people here in the park. I also have a lovely view in front of me; although the park isn't very large, it is situated on the Medan-Banda Aceh Road in the city of Batuphat.

This batagor really whets my appetite; I absolutely love the satisfying crunch of the fried dumplings as I eat them one by one. Complemented by a peanut sauce that is slightly spicy—with a savory, sweet, and salty profile—all the flavors blend together perfectly. The spicy kick from the chili makes me crave even more.

It was as if I was addicted to enjoying it again and it turned out that my friend was right, the batagor sold by the man was really very thick. There are many batagor sellers here, but I chose to buy it even though the man was there because this had been proven for a while and next time I would try buying other snacks again.
