Here's another possibility for war with China:

Supranational parties are actually in control. US elites will (if indeed they haven't done so already) simply surrender to China as part of a unification plan among the supranational controllers, providing for themselves a cushy life among the Chinese elites and surrendering the proles to amalgamation with the Chinese proles, forcibly or no. This could happen without a shot being fired.
